We ask parents and carers to discuss any identified needs with the school before their child starts. This allows appropriate intervention, support and reasonable adjustments to be planned and implemented.
Advice may also be requested from Durham County Council or other specialist agencies to help ensure that the school can meet each child’s needs appropriately.

Applying with an Education, Health and Care Plan
Children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan, or a Statement of Special Educational Needs, follow a different admission and transfer process when moving to a new school.
Parents and carers should continue to complete Durham County Council’s parental preference form as part of the admissions process.
Your Right to Request a School
You have the right to request a particular school. This request will be considered alongside the information held about your child’s special educational needs.
This information may have been provided through the Education, Health and Care assessment process or following your child’s most recent review meeting.
